Review Guidelines
HoffmanHomeschool.com welcomes honest reviews, including negative experiences. A negative review is not automatically a problem.
Reviews should:
- Reflect genuine firsthand participation.
- Be truthful and reasonably specific.
- Focus on the reviewer's family's experience.
- Distinguish personal opinions from factual statements.
- Avoid private information about children or other families.
- Avoid threats, harassment, profanity, or personal attacks.
- Avoid unsupported allegations of criminal or illegal conduct.
- Not intentionally misrepresent another person's words or actions.
- Not be submitted by someone who did not actually participate.
- Not be submitted under a false identity.
- Not be submitted to fabricate, manipulate, or misrepresent a program's reputation or the reviewer's own experience.
Multiple families may submit reviews describing similar experiences. We do not consider it a coordinated effort simply because several reviewers have had the same or similar experience with a program. Independent reviews may naturally identify recurring concerns, strengths, or patterns, and sharing that information is part of the purpose of this resource.
HoffmanHomeschool.com reserves the right to decline, edit, or remove submissions that do not comply with these guidelines.
Who Can Submit a Review?
Parent and family volunteers are welcome to submit reviews, even when their participation includes teaching a class, helping with activities, assisting with check-in, cleaning up, serving as a classroom helper, or performing other volunteer responsibilities.
To keep reviews as independent as possible, we do not accept reviews from people who currently hold a primary leadership or administrative position within the organization being reviewed. This includes current owners, directors, administrators, board members, officers, or others with primary authority over the organization, its policies, or its administration.
This restriction applies to current primary leadership roles, not ordinary parent participation or volunteer service. A parent who teaches a P.E. class or helps supervise students may still submit a review when they are participating as a parent volunteer rather than serving in primary organizational leadership.
Former leaders may submit reviews based on their own firsthand experiences after leaving their leadership or administrative role. The purpose of this rule is to prevent current leadership from reviewing its own organization while still allowing participating families and former leaders to share genuine experiences.
About Reviews
Reviews represent the experiences and opinions of the families who submit them. HoffmanHomeschool.com does not independently investigate or verify every factual statement contained in a review and does not necessarily agree with or endorse the opinions expressed.
Some reviews may be submitted anonymously. When appropriate, HoffmanHomeschool.com may request additional information from a reviewer to confirm participation or clarify a submission.
Organizations and program administrators may contact HoffmanHomeschool.com regarding a review, but HoffmanHomeschool.com is a privately maintained, voluntary resource and is not a customer-service or dispute-resolution service for organizations. We are not obligated to respond to complaints, demands, requests for changes, or attempts to debate a published review. A complaint from an organization does not automatically result in removal of a review. Where a program owner, administrator, board member, staff member, instructor, or other representative contacts HoffmanHomeschool.com regarding a review, we may choose not to engage in further correspondence. Repeated, abusive, threatening, or harassing communications may receive no response and may be blocked or otherwise restricted at our discretion.
Our goal is to provide useful firsthand information to homeschooling families—not to declare which organizations are "good" or "bad."
