As parents, we know it ain’t easy figuring out where our kids really stand in their learning. When we pulled our girls out of public school, folks swore up and down they were “right on track.” Truth was, the only real schooling they’d held onto was what I’d taught ’em myself before they ever set foot in Kindergarten. The rest had blown away like dust in the wind. And looking back, I still shake my head wondering how in the world we let folks talk us into sending them there. Every day was a circus — classrooms full of kids raising Cain, acting out, and robbing time from the ones who wanted to learn. As for the teachers our girls had, they weren’t teaching much of anything — just keeping kids corralled while tax dollars burned. Our girls were left years behind, drifting along without much of an education, and I had to roll up my sleeves, start back at Kindergarten, and hunt high and low for tools that could show me their true level. Trouble was, most of those tools cost money we flat‑out didn’t have. We were new parents, broke as a busted plow, just trying to make sure our kids didn’t grow up hitting the real world unprepared. That was years ago — and now, come December 2025, we’ve been told that very same school district is closing down several campuses. Public school failed us, and it’s still failing families today all across the nation.

That’s why I built these free, no‑nonsense placement quizzes in English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Back then, we were living on ramen noodles and duct‑taped dreams. These days we’re not so new, not so broke, and we’ve traded ramen for Christmas ribeye — but we remember exactly what it felt like to be in that spot.
